Jena’s Advice for Pharmacy Students

Today is Perfecting Peds first day taking APPE students from Jena’s alma mater, Rutgers. What a cool and surreal moment to be able to give back to the school that gave me so much.

**Jena’s Advice to Pharmacy Students:**

Throughout my career, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of pharmacists. My advice to pharmacy students is rooted in the values that have guided my own journey:

1. Dream big. Set ambitious goals and work tirelessly to achieve them.
2. Surround yourself with people who inspire you. Build a network of mentors, colleagues, and friends who challenge and support you.
3. Stay uncomfortable to grow. Embrace challenges and step out of your comfort zone to learn and develop.
4. Take care of yourself—put on your oxygen mask first. Prioritize your well-being to be the best caregiver you can be.
5. Treat every patient as if they were your family. Approach each case with empathy, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.
6. Stay hungry for knowledge. Continually seek out opportunities to learn and stay abreast of the of the latest advancements in your field.
 7. Think outside the box. Be innovative and creative in solving problems and improving patient care.
